I’m still trying to break into the natural beauty world, but I have finally settled on a few permanent changes on my bathroom counter! Here to share with all of you, in case you’re looking for ideas…

naturalbeautyproducts

(1) Primal Pit Paste – Regular deodorants really weren’t cutting it for me, honestly, both for my sensitive skin and keeping the smells away. Then I read a little about the ingredients in them and thought that maybe it was time to try something different and safer. I was a little nervous about the effectiveness (I haaaaate sweating and B.O. and all of that noise) but it was worth a try. I’ve been using this stuff for about 4-5 months now and I’m totally sold. It smells nice, goes on easily, is completely natural with ingredients I’m familiar with, and I don’t smell, yay! There are a lot of coupon codes floating around teh interwebs if you want to give it a shot (100DAYS for example gives you 15% off, which I got from my favorite foodie blog).

Now I just know some of you all are going to see that price and think “Oh my gosh, I can get 4 deodorants at the store for that price!!” Fair enough, but besides the fact that this stuff just has higher quality ingredients, I’m actually still on my first jar of it after almost 5 months of daily use, and it’s barely half way gone. It goes a long way.

(2) Tarte “Lights Camera Lashes” Natural Mascara – The other day I saw the link for this article in my newsfeed. I clicked on it with great hesitation, thinking “if I read this I’m probably going to have to change mascaras…” Turns out though, what I was already using is on the list of good mascaras! Woot! Nothing truly spectacular about this product, other than it works and it doesn’t have the typical harmful ingredient list of the mascaras at the drug store.

(3) Piggy Paint – I’m not ready to totally give up on my normal brands of nail polish, but I’ll admit that the biggest thing I hate about home manicures is the smell. I decided to give this polish a shot after hearing good reviews and seeing an excellent deal on Zulily. First thing I noticed – *zero* smell. I mean it actually doesn’t smell like anything. It’s wonderful. I love the colors and it looks nice like any other nail polish I’ve tried. If I had a complaint, it would be that it doesn’t seem to last as long as other nail polish, but that’s not a deal breaker for me. Perhaps a better top coat or using heat to set the polish might help, but that’s something I haven’t tried as of yet. Anyways, it’s nice stuff, and I can especially see it as a great way to do nail polish with younger girls without worrying about the chemicals and smell.

My first Piggy Paint manicure – success!

I’m still researching into more natural beauty products and routines, including an acceptable foundation substitute and maybe a new shampoo routine. We’ll see. What natural beauty stuff have you all tried and loved? Please share in the comments!
